Lake Pine Creek, Oklahoma Facts & Features
My husband Jason spent his childhood summers on this lake with his grandfather Haskell and grandmother Virginia. They had a cabin within walking distance of the Little River Park. I was fortunate enough to be able to have several fishing trips with Jason and his granddad before they sold the cabin in 2006.

One my favorite coves to fish in for large mouth bass is the northern cove arm to the west of Little River Park. There are a lot of stick ups on the northern bank of this cove that provide excellent cover for ambushing bass. The channel runs down the middle of the cove and is about twenty four feet deep give or take depending on the water levels.
The southern cove arm and bank have been good producers for channel cats and blues. This was the area that I had my first smell of sour grain. I'll never forget it! Granddad Haskell and my husband were tossing it out the boat right in front of me while I had my head turned so the first thing that I noticed was the horrid stench! At that moment I turned around to see where it was coming from and they both had the biggest grins on their faces!
Another area that is great for bass is the first south east point from Little River Park. This is the first point into the main lake channel out from the Little River Park. There is rock shelving all along the southern bank which usually produces good sized bass. When you look at a map, you will see that before you reach this main point, there is a very small cove that just barely juts inward from the rock shelving. This is a killer place that bass love to hide out in. It is shallower and yet still close to deep water. It is sheltered from the main waters and has a lot of brush and stick ups.
For Crappie fishing, I like the first large arm of Pine Creek Lake South East of Little River Park. There are two islands almost directly in between the lake arm and the main lake channel. There are so many stick ups here you could get lost. I always fish the side of the stick ups that are in the opposite direction of the main lake channel which is usually east. |

Lake Pine Creek, Oklahoma Recommended Baits
Bass
Silver and black top water torpedoes in the morning and evening. Black/blue grubs or red shad worms Texas rigged are also great. I'll also rip a mouse colored spinner bait with a single gold blade through the brush to get that reaction bite!
Crappie
I always use a small chartreuse jig head with a light blue colored minnow that is speckled with silver glitter.
