If you haven't fished in Oklahoma yet, then come see what you are missing! Oklahoma has more man-made lakes (200) than any other state, with over one million surface-acres of water and 2,000 more miles of shoreline than the Atlantic and Gulf coasts combined!

The climate of Oklahoma is generally mild and humid except in the far northwest where it is typically semi-arid. Summer months (May through September) can be quite warm with temperatures ranging from 80 - 100 degrees F. Winters are mild in that cold periods are of short duration and snowfall is typically light. The azaleas and redbuds bloom brilliantly in April, while mid-October to mid-November is usually the best time for fall foliage viewing.

Oklahoma is on Central Standard Time from the last Sunday in October until the first Sunday in April and is on Daylight Savings Time the rest of the year. The only exception to this is the Kenton area in the Panhandle; it is on Mountain Standard Time.

Oklahoma is crisscrossed by three major interstates: I-35,I-40 and I-44. Turnpikes are located on I-44 and other regional areas of the state. Maximum speed limits on interstates outside of city limits are set at 70 mph, while most turnpikes allow a maximum speed limit of 75 mph. Seat belts are required to be worn in Oklahoma for all passengers. For more information on Oklahoma's turnpikes, call 1-800-PIKEPASS.

The Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City and the Tulsa International Airport are served by major and regional domestic airlines. The Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport is served by American Eagle.

Whether you are on the hunt for stripers, catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, or crappie, the professional fishing guides listed in these pages will assist you in landing trophy fish.

Our guides provide for all your needs including lures, bait, boats, and safety equipment. Most will even clean and package your fillets so you can take them home. All you need to bring is your fishing license, snacks, sunscreen, hats, cooler and rain gear.

The largest lake in Oklahoma is Lake Eufaula, covering 102,000 surface acres of water and currently holds the state record for smallmouth bass and white bass.

The second largest lake is Lake Texoma and offers some of the finest striper fishing in the country and holds the state record for black bass and blue catfish.

Oklahoma's best kept secret is Lake Broken Bow & Beaver's Bend, also known as "The Little Smokies" area. This picturesque region ranks as the #1 Best Vacation Spot in Oklahoma and holds the state record for largemouth bass.

Lake Hugo is the winter headquarters of both the five-ring Carson and Barnes Circus and its sister circus, the Kelly-Miller Bros.

Nothing makes a fish bigger - than almost being caught!

If everyone concentrated on what's important in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles!
