Lake Sooner Fishing Report

Lake Sooner Oklahoma Fishing Report by David Clark of Fish On Guide Service Fishing guide David Clark of Fish On! Guide Service sends us this fishing report dated 1/25/09 from Lake Sooner:

FISH ON!!!!! It was a good day of fishing and catching. We started out and it was pretty cold(25degress) but when we got to catching some fish, eveything warmed up. The wind was blowing about 10mph out of the east, so I wasn’t sure how that was going to effect the fishing. After about the first ten minutes that question was answered.

We missed several at first, and then we changed to a small treble hook and then we started geting them in the boat. After about the fourth Hybrid, we caught a 26lb blue. Then it was nothing but Hybrids, a crappie and Striper. When we quit we had 40 fish it the box. We caught most on downlines on live shad, but we did catch a few on cut bait. The water temp. was 44degrees and we were in 35ft of water most of the day. FISH ON!!!

Editor’s Note: Thanks for the report and picture Dave. See – the weather only bothers the fisherman. Dress warmly and you can catch fish year round!! If you would like to go fishing with Dave, call him at 918-724-6786 or visit his website at www.FishOnOK.com.

Lake Sooner Fishing Report

Lake Sooner Oklahoma fishing report from fishing guide David Clark of Fish On! Guide Service Fishing guide David Clark of Fish On! Guide Service sends us this fishing report from Lake Sooner:

FISH ON!!!! Went out on Saturday and had a good, slow, steady day. We had trouble finding the fish, but when we found them, it was pretty good action.

We found them in a place I had never fished for them before. They were in 56ft of water on the bottom. We caught one and I thought hmm. I anchored up and it stayed just slow and steady the rest of the afternoon. I was surprised the bait was living good at that depth. We were fishing 2 to 4 cranks off of the bottom.

We ended up with 35 Hybrids. Almost all were in the 3lb range with a couple 4’s. Water temperature on the lake is still 50 degress and 64 degrees in the discharge.

Editor’s Note: Thanks for the report and picture Dave. Looks like a great trip was had by all! If you would like to go fishing with Dave, call him at 918-724-6786 or visit his website at www.FishOnOK.com.

Tom Steed Fishing Report

Lake Tom Steed Oklahoma Fishing Report from Fishing Guide Mike DiehlFishing guide Mike Diehl sends us this report from Lake Tom Steed:

I haven’t been able to fish for weeks, so for Thanksgiving, I spent most of the day on the water. It was one of those days where nothing went right and then everything just goes crazy. The fishing was slow, the fishing line was constantly tangled, my live well pump quit and the other one was leaking.

Then the excitement began and the fish were hitting hard for about an hour. My first and largest caught on a Hookhider Rod and Bomber Lure and the rest caught and lost on a new Foster buzzbait (that I actually named) called the Grim reaper. I landed four bass and the largest was just shy of three pounds.

Then IT happened. I set the hook and brought to the boat the biggest bass I have ever seen in person. This bucket mouth was huge and I mean every bit of ten pounds or better and just as I reached for his lip he was gone with one shake of his huge body.

The rest of the day was spent crying on the front deck of the boat. It was the good, the bad, and the ugly all rolled up into one trip.

Editor’s Note: Thanks for the report and pictures Mike. Looks like a great day on the lake to me! Of course, we all have that story….it was this big….really….huge…but it got away. If you would like to going fishing with Mike, give him a call at 580-639-2065.
