Avid fisherman Jason P. sends in this fishing report on catfish at Lake Texoma:
These are some catfish caught down at Lake Texoma on Friday. They were both pulled off juglines. I don’t wanna tell my spot, but I will say we are catching them at about 40 feet right on bottom on top of submerged railroads and old roadbeds that travel across deep channels.
My father and his friends have been running the lines during the week and they said they have been catching lots of smaller fish in the 4-10 lb range using the same methods and same areas. Also, we use only worms to catch them. We have tried many other baits including large live baits to NO avail.
Worms have been the only success story to date. Well, until next time, hope everyone is having a terrific new year and getting outdoors enjoying some of this abnormal warmer weather…..
Editor’s Note: Thanks for the report and pics Jason! Those are some nice blue cats. How much did they weigh??
